Palmetto State Quartet

Rich In History - Poised For The Future

PSQ has been a mainstay in Southern Gospel Music since the 1940's. With nearly 70 years of history behind them, PSQ is regarded as one of the premier Christian recording artists in the industry. Over the years, many wonderfully talented men have represented PSQ, always delivering the finest vocal harmony and superb stage presence.

The tradition that began in the 1940s, continues today, seven decades later, under the leadership of bass singer, Larry Strickland, who purchased the group in September of 2009. Larry possesses a rich musical background and is a former member of the renowned Stamps Quartet. He is married to country music and television superstar Naomi Judd. After years of managing Naomi's career, in 2008 Larry decided to return to Gospel Music as the bass singer for PSQ. Larry’s desire to present the uncompromising message of the Gospel with the finest in quartet harmony is the driving force behind the success of the group.

PSQ is currently enjoying their latest Top 5 single, “Don’t That Sound Like Heaven,” and they are touring throughout the United States and Canada, performing in concert halls and churches, alike. Additionally, the group enjoys performing on a select number of Judd Reunion concerts, featuring Larry’s wife, Naomi and daughter, Wynnona. Regardless of whether they are performing in large concert halls, arenas, stadiums or small rural churches, PSQ consistently delivers their music and the message of the Gospel to audiences who embrace their four-part harmonies and first-class Gospel presentation. PSQ is rich in history and poised for the future.
